MUA Lipstick Shade 5

 

The one thing i am always apprehensive about buying online (when it comes to cosmetics) is Lipsticks.I cant help my self usually and i always end up buying something but it never turns out to be quite what i expected;)

 So true to form, when i ordered some MUA goodies i ended up getting one of their lipsticks as well and its not my most favorite item of the lot sadly.

MUA claims:

" Girls, there is nothing better than lipstick. Apart from maybe lipstick that costs just £1! Ok definitely lipstick that costs just £1. Don't say we're not good to you. Our amazing lipsticks come in 16 shades from red to pink and nude and are packed full of pigmentation. With just one swipe you'll have fantastic color pay off resulting in gorgeous lips! Why not pick a shade you've not tried before and get a new look? It is just £1 after all...did we already mention that?"

 My thoughts:

Now don't get me wrong, i do think that for a product that costs only one pound , its not too shabby.I think my biggest gripe is that i got so many thing wrong about it.From the swatches i saw online , i was expecting this to be a warmer shade of pink and its not.I thought it would have a sheen.It actually has glitter.The color is too pale for my Pakistani complexion.It feels slippery on lips (like you have Vaseline on). You know ....how it feels to have petroleum jelly on your lips?( Thats how this lipstick feels on my lips). Its has very visible glitter in it.In my opinion glitter is more a thing for teenagers (just my opinion).

PROS:

1.Price

2.Available in 16 shades

3.Easily available in Pakistan.

4.If you like very light pink shades.

5.If you are looking for a sheer, glittery (almost similar to a gloss) lipstick.

6.The lower part of the lipstick actually opens up and contains a gloss in the same shade.

7.Worn over another lip color(matte) , this will look really good.

CONS:

1.Glitter (chunky)

2.Feels like petroleum jelly on lips.

3.Very little staying power(1 hr max)
