Winter weather brings with it dry flaky skin and rough hands , feet.Even as a teenager i never had as much issue with skin care in summer as i had in winter.All of my skin care regimen suddenly stopped doing its job and i never knew how to handle this problem.Until i discovered the power of this natural jewel.

Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 instant Soothing serum

When i tried the Olay total effects cream last year i got a sample size of this serum along with it.I tried it and was pretty impressed with the results.But for some reason i never got around to buying the full sized product till now.

 

This is supposed to be anti aging instant smoothing serum.I use it under my night cream / moisturizer.The plastic pump bottle contains 50 ml of product , which theoretically should last up to a month with daily use.

Nair Wax Strips

When it comes to this kind of strips , the market is flooded with multiple brands.In all shapes & sizes and with varying prices.I recently bought a pack of the ones from Nair and after using them a few times i have come to the conclusion that using these pre made wax strips is sort of hit and miss .

Boots essential cucumber eye gel

 

This is another eye gel that we have been trying for the last few weeks.It is a pretty straight forward product in my opinion so i think i have got the hang of what it is all about even though i still have to finish the whole tube.

Clinian's eye and lip intensive balm

 

Clinians is not a brand i was familiar  with before trying this eye cream. But i decided to get my self two of its eye creams just to see how my skin reacted to the products and if i should replace my current eye cream.

I am a regular user of the Freeman facial mask range but i usually go for the cucumber one .This time i decided to go for something a little different and try the clay mask with chocolate and strawberry.

Since Garnier has become available locally in Pakistan , a wide range of its products have flooded the market.The most prominent ones being from the "fairness" range .We got to try this face wash purely by luck because we got this one instead when we ran out of our regular Clean & clear.

Vaseline Sheer Infusion Body Lotion

Vaseline is a brand that is very readily available in Karachi (as well as the rest of Pakistan). Vaseline petroleum jelly is a house hold necessity in my opinion.The brand has quite an extensive body lotion range as well.Every time i go to the mall i see a new one.This one i got a few weeks back to combat the dryness of the weather.

Garnier "Skin Naturals" wrinkle lift anti ageing cream

Garnier is one of those brands that i have had a love - hate relationship with.Some of the products work for my skin type (which is oily combination) , most though.... dont.

St.Ives "Timeless skin" Apricot Scrub

 

I wont be exaggerating when i say that i have been using this forever.I have tried a few other brand but i have always come back to St Ives Apricot scrub.

Clean and Clear Fruit Essentials Facial Cleanser

Facial cleansers are a dime a dozen in the market these days.Hardly anyone i know uses soap to wash their face.Clean and Clear has been the go to brand when it comes to my family , in terms of cleansers.I usually buy myself the original one and i am pretty satisfied with it so i have not tried anything new in a while.Why mess with a good thing ....Right? But i have read a few reviews from fellow bloggers on these cleansers by Clean & Clear and the pink color looked so tempting on the shelf while browsing the cosmetics floor at Naheed , that i couldn't stop myself from buying it;)

Glysolid Glycerine Body cream

I had been on the look out for a good body cream for the last few months or so.And tried multiple products. Each time i went to my local cosmetic counter , the owner kept trying to get me to buy this product.So finally, after trying a bunch of creams and body butters (with no great success i might add) , i bought this.I have been using it for the last two months and here is what i think :-)

Garnier Wrinkle lift A is a day cream that claims to keep your skin moisturized , toned and cleansed as well as keep your premature wrinkles at bay with the help of activated vitamin A.It took me a while to form an opinion about this one.I am rather biased when it comes to Garnier as a brand because the products just don't suit my skin , so i didn't want to write a review based on a rash first impression.

This is going to be a short review because (the unthinkable happened) and i fried my keyboard and writing with the "onscreen keyboard" is a total pain ;) I was really excited when i got this product but i didn't want to post a review before i had formed a complete opinion about the whole experience.Those who regularly follow our blog posts know that i am not one to change my skin care regimen too often.I have a solid routine that i like to stick to but i have always felt the need to try a better night cream as the one i was using before left a lot to be desired.so on a random excursion to my local make up counter i decided to give a try to the "Olay Total effects 7x night cream".

I think foundations and loose powders are the two things that each one of us is always on the look out for. The search for the next best thing is unending ;) Especially living in hot and humid climates , makes it a necessity to have a good powder to keep the face shine free and your makeup long lasting.

My experience:
When i was a teenager , i had really REALLY oily skin.A problem made worst by the fact , that i had no idea how to take care of my particular skin type.Therefore i became the prime example of how acne can make life miserable :(

The weather is starting to change in our fair city.The increase in temperature hinting to the beginning of summer , in all its hot and humid glory ;) It is very difficult to wear make up when it is so hot out (as even the most sturdiest of cosmetics melt away in the face of sweltering heat). I wear a bare minimum in make up in summers , leaning more towards skin care.One thing i LOVE about my oily combination skin is that if i take good enough care of it during summers, i usually end up with zero breakouts, which is a feat in itself.

Revlon colorstay vs Revlon colorstay

I have been meaning to do this comparison post for quite a while now.But it got postponed for one reason or another:)Lets just begin by saying that i am very taken with Revlon's colorstay line.Especially the foundations.In Pakistan Revlon products are not available in open market.You may sometime find a few shades of foundation here & there or lipsticks / lip glosses but not in an official capacity(correct me if i am wrong). For the longest time i wanted to get my hands on Revlon colorstay foundation with softflex so when i found one at my local cosmetic counter (even though it was totally the wrong color for me) i immediately bought it.What i failed to notice at the time was that the bottle didn't exactly say it had softflex in it.So i ended up(in my haste) not only buying the wrong shade but also the wrong formula :( But i tried it any how, just to satisfy my curiosity about it.Than i got my hands on this other colorstay foundation (Active light makeup). This time the color matched perfectly. But both the formulas/packaging is so different from each other that i thought a comparison post was in order :)
